So you’re a Broadway fan, and you want to take your love of theatre to the next level! Congratulations! It’s an exciting moment when you decide you’d like to take the jump and make a career around the art and community you love most. What happens next? Lucky for you, there many creative and innovative ways to make a living in the theatre industry! From theatre writing, to dramaturging, administration, directing, performing, and more: you can translate your passion into something only you can do. Join the Dramatists Guild for a session dedicated to learning how to advocate for yourself and learn something that feels like a mystery to many: the business of making theatre! In this interactive workshop, participants should expect to learn how to formulate a brief artistic statement to share with others, learn the basics of self advocacy/business practice as an artist, and be prepared to give and receive feedback from other participants.
